Buyer's Checklist |
A few questions that you should ask yourself before you proceed in any home improvement project are the following:
| 1) Can you afford the home improvement you have
been wanting to do? |
| 2) Before obtaining estimates from contractors,
calculate up front what you can and should only spend on improving your home. |
| 3) Ask yourself how long you intend to stay in
your home and will the home improvement increase the market value of your home? You don't want
to have to invest thousands of dollars that you can't recoup if you sell in two to three years. |
| 4) Also, look at your current monthly cash flow
to determine if you can afford the additional expense if you decide to finance the intended project. |
